Delhi-Based Cricket Umpire Sumit Bansal Dies Aged 46

Board of Management for Cricket in India (BCCI) umpire Sumit Bansal died after struggling a cardiac arrest on Sunday. In line with a report in ESPNcricinfo, Sumit Bansal who was a Delhi and District Cricket Affiliation (DDCA) affiliated umpire died in a hospital in New Delhi on the age of 46. DDCA on Sunday mourned the demise of Sumit Bansal. “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Sumit Bansal. Our ideas and prayers are with the household. Could the soul of Shri Sumit Bansal relaxation in peace. Our deepest, most heartfelt condolences are with the household,” DDCA tweeted.

Sumit was one of many on-field umpires in Tamil Nadu vs Himachal Pradesh Beneath-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy match which occurred on October 2.

The umpire was struck beneath the attention by a shot performed by a Himachal Pradesh batter.
